By55 Lazy Mondays Returns to the Shaw Centre

Capitalizing on its unique main-floor culinary preparation and presentation space called CrEATe Kitchen, Shaw Centre is bringing back an innovative offering this spring. The rationale is simple: it can be hard enough to find motivation on a Monday and by the time you’ve made it through the workday, cooking might be the last thing on your mind. That’s why Executive Chef, Patrick Turcot, with the support of visiting chefs from some of Ottawa’s top establishments, is delighted to offer this unforgettable gastronomic experience at Shaw Centre.

What makes the BY55 – Lazy Monday dinners so special is their intimate and interactive nature. With just 18 seats available, guests are treated to an up-close and personal culinary experience. Positioned right in front of the chefs at CrEATe Kitchen, attendees have ideal sightlines to watch as their meal is meticulously prepared and plated. But it’s not just about the food—it’s about the story behind each dish and the locally-sourced ingredients that make them truly special.

BY55 – Lazy Monday dinners have proved to be very animated, no doubt due to the guests having a shared passion for savoring good food. Whether you come alone or as part of a group, you will feast on lively conversation in addition to an exceptional meal.

“These dinners provide a unique window into Ottawa’s dynamic culinary landscape,” remarks Chef Turcot. “Guests not only savor exceptional dishes but also embark on a journey through the city’s diverse flavors and culinary customs. It’s an experience that extends beyond mere dining, nurturing connections and fostering a deep appreciation for the rich culinary landscape of our region.”

With great success in 2019, the series featured chefs such as Rene Rodriguez, Joe Thottungal, and David Vinoya, with sellout events. This year promises to be equally exciting, kicking off on April 8th with one of Ottawa’s finest talents, Chef Raghav Chaudhary from Aiana Restaurant. Chef Raghav, who represented Ottawa in the last Great Canadian Kitchen Party, is just one of the many fantastic chefs lined up for this year’s roster.

At a fee of $155, inclusive of taxes and administrative fees per person, attendees are treated to a welcome cocktail and amuse-bouche, followed by a three-course meal paired with alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages. A portion of ticket sales will go toward our newly established partnership with the Indigenous Tourism Destination Fund. This fund is dedicated to offering vital resources and assistance to Indigenous entrepreneurs, businesses, and communities striving to grow and enrich their involvement in the tourism sector.
