Shaw Centre Wins Bid to Host 75th Annual Canadian Cardiovascular Congress

OTTAWA – Shaw Centre and Ottawa Tourism are pleased to announce that Ottawa has been selected to host the Canadian Cardiovascular Congress in 2022 (CCC). Previously named Canadian Cardiovascular Society Annual Meeting, CCC continues to grow by bringing returning and new delegates to different locations across the country.

The foremost national event for cardiologists, cardiovascular surgeons, researchers, nurses and specialists from across Canada and around the globe is co-hosted by the Canadian Cardiovascular Society (CCS) and the Heart and Stroke. This significant bid win marks the first time the Ottawa-based organizations will co-host its annual Congress in their hometown. The CCC will be celebrating three quarters of a century of cardiovascular health and care promotion through knowledge, professional development and leadership; and Canada’s capital makes the perfect location.

This annual conference unites Canada’s cardiovascular community, from physicians to researchers, to network, learn and showcase the latest in research and innovations.

Canadian Cardiovascular Congress objectives:

To showcase high quality Canadian research for CCS members and affiliates;
To enhance opportunities for professional collaboration and networking;
To promote the CCS as a credible voice in cardiovascular health and care to the community and the public;
To collaborate with the Heart and Stroke for shared advocacy; and
To generate sustainable funding for CCS programs.
The three-day meeting will bring over 2500 cardiovascular and health care specialists and delegates from around the world to the 192,000 square foot Shaw Centre.

Shaw Centre is pleased to partner with its neighbours, the Fairmont Chateau Laurier, Westin Hotel, and Novotel Hotel, for the diamond anniversary of such a unique and engaging event, which will provide participants with high-quality professional development and networking opportunities.

“What makes CCC so remarkable is it is the largest gathering of cardiovascular health care professionals in Canada. It will be great to see a meeting of this size use not only the meeting space at the Shaw Centre, but take advantage of the space available to them at our neighbouring hotels.” – Delia Lapensee, Senior Account Manager – National Convention Sales, Centre Shaw.
